The Drogheda community turned out in force to celebrate the grand opening of Brooks Timber & Building Supplies’ newest branch on Donore Road - a fantastic day packed with smiles, local pride and a shared sense of excitement.

From early morning trade customers to families, GAA fans and DIY enthusiasts, the event attracted hundreds of visitors from across Drogheda, Louth and beyond. The remarkable energy was matched only by the incredible support shown by the local community, keen to welcome Brooks to the town and experience the wide range of activities on offer throughout the day.

Visitors were treated to appearances from Louth GAA stars Sam Mulroy and Ger Brennan, as well as Ciaran Downey from Newtown Blues Drogheda. The Leinster Cup proudly took centre stage, giving fans a unique opportunity for photos and meet-and-greets with their sporting heroes.

More than 40 leading suppliers showcased live product demonstrations while customers snapped up exclusive opening day deals. Across the site, families enjoyed face painting, free refreshments, a visit from the Dulux Dog, live music with LMFM, and expert colour advice from Colourtrend’s Colour Consultant. Over €10,000 worth of prizes were won on the day, including a highly sought-after signed and framed Louth GAA jersey.

Reflecting on the day’s success, Pat Moore, Managing Director of Brooks, said:

“The response from the Drogheda community has been absolutely phenomenal. From the moment we opened our doors, we’ve felt nothing but warmth, support and excitement from local people and businesses. Today wasn’t just about opening a new store, it was about becoming part of a town with incredible energy, spirit and pride. I couldn’t be prouder of the team for delivering such a memorable day.”

“Brooks has been serving Ireland’s builders for centuries, but days like today remind us why we’re still here: it’s about people, partnerships and community. Drogheda is a town going places, and we’re proud to now call it home.”

With a full-service offering across timber, building materials, plumbing, bathrooms, tools, doors, flooring, and workwear, Brooks Drogheda is now firmly open for business and ready to support local tradespeople, homeowners, and businesses with quality products and trusted advice.

The opening represents a significant investment by Brooks, one of Ireland’s oldest builders merchants dating back to the late 1700s, and further strengthens its presence across the country with branches in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Sligo and now Drogheda.
